The Nigerian Senate on Wednesday confirmed the two ministerial nominees sent to it by President Muhammadu Buhari.
They include Stephen Ocheni and Suleiman Hassan. While Ocheni from Kogi state is replacing James Ocholi, former minister of state for labour and productivity, who died in a road crash, Hassan from Gombe is the replacement for Amina Mohammed, former minister of environment, who is currently at the United Nations.
The confirmation followed a voice vote by Senate President Bukola Saraki which was overwhelmingly approved by majority Senator of the House.
This development shows that there is an improvement in relationship between the legislature and executive.
